A week and a half ago I drove over to Bristol to spend a bit of time rehearsing with a few musicians and then we recorded in Alex Garden's delightful studio. We recorded three tracks which constitutes half the project.
The rough bounces sound very promising. I haven't yet started the process of writing mix notes for how I want Alex to shape the tracks. They will shift a little, but the skeletons are very much up and about and bopping around.

I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in to more recording in a couple of week's time, when I'm heading up to Leeds to record another two tracks. Which will just leave one final collaborator to record with.
I'm having surgery in mid-February and it's looking like I may not have time to record the final track beforehand, and given that I'm expecting a lengthy recovery, the project may end up getting delayed, but I'll do my best to let you know if Correspondence will be later than planned.
Finally a picture of my new best friend, Bobo. I'm more of dog person, but Alex's cat Bobo made me feel very welcome and we had lots of cuddles. Alex's other cat, Chance, was a little bit of a cold fish and didn't really get involved in the recording process.
